Located in the new, upscale and gated community of the Virgin Grand Estates, Cocotier offers all the comforts of home with an elegant island twist. This wonderful home is fully air-conditioned, offering comparable bedrooms with baths ensuite, furnished with exotic teak and mahogany pieces from throughout the tropical world. The accompanying baths are spacious and attractive, with tumbled marble accents and showers that open to the sea but preserve your privacy.
After a day at our gorgeous beaches, slip into the pool for a refreshing freshwater pick-me-up, and marvel at the ships sailing by and the sun following its course to the distant horizon. The views are endless, south to St. Croix, west to Puerto Rico and North to Lovango Cay. The sunsets are breathtaking from this spot.
Later, retire to great room, which offers a comfortable spot to read and relax, or perhaps catch up on the outside world with state of the art satellite television and internet access.
This home is state of the art but warm and welcoming as well, with carefully selected furnishing and hand painted antiques to enhance your experience.
Enjoy a tropical cocktail at the bar while your designated chef prepares island cuisine in the well designed kitchen. Enjoy the fruits of your labor at the large banquet table while enjoying the sunset, or dine alfresco by the pool to the twinkling lights of St. Thomas, a sight rivaled only by the countless stars above.
Later, finish the evening with a retreat to the bubbling spa, to enjoy the sights and sounds of our enchanted island evenings, while tropical blooms like frangipani and jasmine perfume the air.
Sleep the night away in air-conditioned comfort in designer sheets, only to wake up and start the process over when morning arrives.
The layout is fantastic offering beautiful sunset views of the water, boats anchored in the harbor below, and the twinkling lights of St. Thomas. The villa has a courtyard feel lined with coconut trees and tropical gardens, the focus around the pool and outdoor patio and of course the view. The main living areas of the kitchen/dining and great room were open and inviting in a tasteful British Colonial decor as well as the bedrooms - just perfect for the islands. All four bedrooms were similar in size (two king & two queen), each with its own on-suite bath, comfortable linens and plush towels. The villa is essentially on one level with the exception of one bedroom. This made getting around easier for our parents who are having mobility problems and don't do that well with stairs. Air conditioning is available in each bedroom and main living area, but we never used it! And the washer/dryer were great options allowing us to pack less for the trip. Our family gathered here (parents, three siblings with spouses and two grand kids) and spent 10 glorious days. A rental car with 4WD is necessary to make it up the steep roads (and driveway). We visited a different beach every day and ended the afternoon with a dip in the pool. With two young children in our group, we chose to prepare most of our dinners. The only fault I can find with the villa is the condition of the cutlery and non-stick frying pans. It's curious how previous renters could use the very dull knives to make so many cuts on the non-stick pans - a problem with many vacation houses. Otherwise the kitchen was well appointed with high-end appliances and lots of fun glassware to make plenty of painkillers! All great things come to an end, but we certainly hated to leave!
