The large and airy great room and open kitchen have a rich and elegant island decor, and flow out through large arched doorways to a breezy covered deck where you can enjoy your dinner and refreshments and study the horizon for that elusive green flash.
Palm Hill has an inviting pool centrally located outside the great room, for a quick dip after a day at our world renowned beaches. The bedrooms offer king and twin bedding and all offer elegant baths ensuite with built- in closets and showers with Caribbean Views.
Palm Hill's location on Maria Bluff is the best of all worlds, convenient to Cruz Bay and the North Shore, but miles away in feel in a quiet residential neighborhood with a view that goes on forever. Palm Hill is coming soon, and will soon be one of our most popular with its view, location and elegance!
We stayed at Palm Hill during the week of July 20 through 28, 2013. To put things in context, we've been to St. John six different times, and in the past, we've stayed at Peter Max's house (ugh, I hope they've made renovations), Vistaero, Villa Belvedere, and the Peter Bay Gatehouse, but all six of us on this trip agreed that Palm Hill has now topped the list as the best place we've stayed. The villa was very well maintained and well furnished. All the bedrooms were spacious, and the kitchen was the perfect mix of size and functionality. In addition, the patio and pool area were very great and provided absolutely gorgeous views of St. Thomas and Great Cruz Bay. The pool was also great and provided those same great views -- a wonderful place to cool off after a day on the beaches and before going out to dinner. Furthermore, the location is almost perfect -- a short drive to Cruz Bay and the northern beaches. As a runner, I personally loved the fact that the Maria's Bluff neighborhood is (relatively for the island) flat and doesn't have much traffic, making it a good place to get an early morning run in. Obviously, which villa we rent depends on the number of couples on the trip, but we would not hesitate to stay at Palm Hill again and hope to do so in the future.
Our family spent Thanksgiving , 2013, at Palm Hill and it is one of the best vacations we have ever had. The view is spectacular! We loved watching the boats and ferries. The house was awesome. It is close to town however feels very private. We loved the bedrooms being across the courtyard from the living, dining area. The house was really stocked well with all you needed! We would definitely go again and definitely would recommend to anyone! We could sit on that porch forever! We also loved Cruz Bay! The shops , bars and restaurants are great and some with a great view. It was so much fun when we returned home and House Hunters were on Cruz Bay and we could "re visit" the area watching the show. This house and area are a keeper!!!
This place will not disappoint you! Palm has amazing view, conveniently located to Cruz Bay, and the rooms are all equal in size and all have great views. Looking forward to returning back to this Villa soon!
Just got back from our stay on ST. John in the Palm Hill Villa and wish we were back!! I wanted to be sure to write a review as I had a hard time finding much on the villa when I was researching, so I hope this helps those looking at this villa. It was perfect! Not far from town, but yet secluded. Perfect villa for 3 couples, 3 beautiful bedrooms with nice size bathrooms and even showers with a view of the bay below. The kitchen is definitely well equipped, which we felt was a bonus as we cooked a lot of meals in as food prices on the island is a shocker. Beach chairs, cooler and pool toys were available. I would say the stairs down to the villa was some challenge, got our exercise every day! But if some one in your party has trouble with steps this may not be the villa for you (42 steps). Pool was perfect with a gorgeous view of the bay and the iguanas were definitely interesting to watch sunning themselves on our deck and pool! Truly a beautiful villa and I would definitely come back to this villa. Just a couple of things to note for future visitors: Even with late flights, the villa manager was still at the ferry waiting for us, took us to car rental, and escorted us up to the villa! A welcome basket was in the frig and when we discovered our propane grill had been left on by previous guests, left a message and came back from our beach trip and propane tank had been filled and replaced on grill. As mentioned before food prices are a shocker both at markets and restaurants, plus we were disappointed in the restaurants as a whole, poor service (nobody has any sense of rush here), overpriced and small portions and nothing that stood out as truly delicious. Some examples of prices: a box of Ritz crackers:$6.95, 24 pack of water:$15.95, a bag of salad mix:$6.99, one orange (1):$2.29, pound of bacon:$11.95, but hey rum is cheap!!!! Snorkeling was the best here compared to other islands I have been to, especially Trunk Bay, where we saw a baby octopus, a sea turtle, stingray and lots of colorful fish. Snorkeling was also good in Cinnamon Bay, but day there surf was a little rough. Must recommend a day trip to Coral Bay, wild donkeys and billy goats, running around and the donkeys walk right up to your car, we even helped pull a piece of cactus off one guys snout! Probably the best lunch we had was here at sunken treasure (think that was the name), were gonna try snorkeling here but this side of island was definitely rougher. Hope this helps those of you looking at this villa, perfect location, view and villa!! I know I wish I had found more about this villa before my trip but I didn't go wrong!!! St. Johns and Palm Hill, I miss you and can't wait to return!
We just got back from our trip to St. John about a week ago and I have to say that this villa is absolutley gorgeous! You will truly enjoy your stay in this villa. The rooms are comfy and the pool is just the right size and looks out onto a beautiful view.
