The handsome, 3-level design consists of multiple adjoining buildings with separate exterior rooflines but with an interior that is all under one continuous roof. Vista Caribe also incorporates many classic architectural features, such as; tiled roofs, an antique brick pool deck, beamed cathedral ceilings, tiled floors throughout, 12 foot Doric columns, arched walls, and mahogany French doors that open to tiled patios and verandas.
Parking is above Vista Caribe and a flight of stairs descends to a tiled deck where a set of French doors opens to the great room. The formal dining room and kitchen adjoin the great room on its north side, while the brick pool deck, pool and gazebo are on the south side. Beyond the kitchen and laundry room, a common set of interior stairs leads to the bedrooms. Each of the 3 bedrooms is on a different level and each bedroom faces south to capture the dazzling views. The fantastic master bedroom is on the uppermost level and the guest bedroom (2 twins, can convert to King) is one level below.
Vista Caribe impeccable designer furnishings, gourmet kitchen, private pool, central air, & lush landscaping. The villa of choice for sophisticated travelers. Granite countertops, mahogany cabinets, stainless steel appliances, a tiled floor and a beamed cathedral ceiling - you would be hard pressed to find a more handsome kitchen than this. It's not only beautiful, it's also well equipped with a 5-burner gas stove with hood, standard and convection ovens, a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, a mahogany wine rack and lots more - this is definitely a great kitchen. A mahogany and granite half bath is off the kitchen, as is the large laundry room with washer and dryer. Even the laundry room has gorgeous mahogany cabinets in this first-rate home.
The formal, interior dining room seats 6 at a glass topped table with rattan chairs. If you prefer dining outside, a table on the covered deck off the dining room also seats 6. With its large French doors, a towering cathedral ceiling, comfortable tropical furnishings and marvelous views, the spacious living room is an example of subtle Caribbean elegance. A satellite TV/VCR, and a stereo/CD/cassette provide the entertainment.
Vista Caribe, located at the exclusive Virgin Grande Estates, on a private 1/2 acre, offers elegant solitude within a 5 minute drive to Cruz Bay. Vista Caribe enjoys a terrific setting on one of the choicest lots within the exclusive Virgin Grand Estates. It is located 650 feet above the Caribbean Sea in a peaceful and exclusive location, with truly fantastic views of St. James, St. Thomas and many other distant islands. The sunset views are spectacular, undoubtedly some of the best on the island.
A private road leads to Vista Caribe and dead-ends about 200 yards beyond your villa. There are only two villas beyond Vista Caribe on this private drive, so there is very little road traffic and this setting retains a good amount of tranquility and peacefulness. The sun arcs across your horizon all day long and provides you with an ever-changing panorama of color. The south / southwest orientation of Vista Caribe also means gentle breezes and sun on your pool deck from 9 AM to sunset - this is definitely a sun lover's villa (the gazebo, pool and a/c house provide relief, if you need it).
About a half-mile below Vista Caribe lie the restaurants, beach and fitness room of the Westin Resort, while the restaurants and shops of the fascinating village of Cruz Bay are a 10-minute drive, entirely on paved roads.
Vista Caribe enjoys one of the highest elevations and one of the quietest, most preferred and peaceful settings in the Virgin Grande Estates private development. Lots within the Virgin Grand Estates run from an elevation of about 100 feet to about 700 feet above sea level. Generally, the higher up you go, the better the view and the more expensive and desirable the property becomes. The spectacular Vista Caribe views sweep more than 200 degrees, from St. Croix in the south, past Little St. James and St. Thomas in the west, and beyond Lovango in the northwest.
Vista Caribe was completed in late 2003 and began renting in 2004. This is the second home to be built by the talented development team that also built Las Brisas Caribe, and with the same commitment to quality design, construction and furnishings. Vista Caribe represents a tasteful blending of classic Caribbean architecture with the comforts of a luxurious, modern home. Everything about this villa is tasteful and impressive, including such features as central air conditioning, a sun lover's pool, a shade lover's gazebo, an antique brick pool deck, the truly gourmet kitchen, columned verandas, satellite TV/VCR throughout, abundant tropical landscaping, and majestic views from all rooms of the house.
Vista Caribe is elegant and romantic throughout, and with its impressive master bedroom and private location, this villa qualifies as a lovely honeymoon home. With its spacious floor plan and excellent privacy among bedrooms, this is also a great choice for couples, or for families with children.
From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were home. The house is beautiful. I searched for weeks to find the best house for our group, and this one did not disappoint. Pros... It is close to Cruz on all paved roads. It has a well-stocked kitchen, with tons of beach towels and linens. We had one issue with a power outage (island wide); the guy was there to fix it before most people were even out of bed. He was friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions on where to go on the island. The sunset views from the decks are amazing. It is perfect house for eight college friends to share for the week. Cons...We wish the greeter would have taken us the Centerline road instead of by the Westin. It may be shorter, but we had seven first timers on St. John and it was very intimidating. There was a weird, loud and continuous drip in the lower level bedroom. Some of the beach chairs were broken and we didn't realize it until we got to the beach. (There were plenty for the next trip.) There was always a puddle of water between the pool house and the main house, several people slipped during the week. I would recommend this home for a group.
The home was fabulous! My family hadn't been on a vacation together for ten years. Vista Caribe is a beautiful house overlooking the bay. There was room for all of us to spread out and relax together. I loved eating outside on the deck overlooking the bay and gardens, the pool, and the gorgeous four-poster beds. The gourmet kitchen almost made me want to cook on vacation, well almost. The only negative, no Olympics NBC channel!
3 families spent 10 days at vista caribe in July. This was out 7th trip to St John. Everything was handled professionally and promptly. Our home was incredible, with great AC! Great layout too w/bedrooms private and separated. All bedding was first rate. The king room on lowest level has a patio but no view. Twin beds used by kids on middle level so that would have been better for view and for adults. The kitchen has everything you need and a spice drawer too. We provisioned the unit with Starfish Market so everything was there when we arrived. The only thing we needed was ice for the ice chests. There are 8 comfy beach chairs and plenty of towels and bedding. Just a wonderful Place and highly recommend it!
We had a wonderful week staying at Vista Caribe. The villa is very well appointed and is as beautiful as it appears in the photos. We particularly loved the view, the kitchen and the air conditioning. My only suggestion would be that it would be nice to trim the bushes on the view side of the pool - that way you could enjoy the incredible view while in the pool. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!
Our family of six enjoyed the views, the space and attention to detail at Vista Caribe. Our favorite spots were the pool area and balcony. The kitchen was beautiful, spacious, & comfortable. All 4 bedrooms & bathrooms were well appointed and beautiful. It's true the beds in the master & guesthouse (especially) were very high off the ground. We enjoyed seeing several iguanas on the property. Overall, villa Vista Caribe was an exceptional home with amazing views of Great Cruz Bay. It just felt like home!
We stayed at Vista Caribe the week of 04/28/12 to 05/05/12. The house was fantastic. The sunset views and the lights of St Thomas were great. We always had a nice breeze which kept the bugs away and made it very comfortable. The house overlooks Great Cruz Bay and the Westin. We visited the Westin and it was hot with no breeze. The House had all the amenities and even provided various supplies and essentials. A nice welcome kit made you feel very welcome. This house has it all (Views, AC, Fans, Grill, each bedroom is on a different floor and so much more). We will be come back to Vista Caribe.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Vista Caribe! We stay a villa in St John every February, and this was our favorite to date! The villa has a great layout for our family of 5, including 3 small children. The hill-top location afforded beautiful views and calm breezes. Can't wait to go back!
Vista Caribe was a wonderful villa. The views from your deck and pool is worth the trip. This is spacious villa that you can completely open up for the nice breezes or close up for complete AC. Its location in the uppermost elevations of Virgin Grand Estates is one of the best on the island. It is convenient to Cruise Bay and Downtown shops/Resturants but still very private.
